Kaffitár is an Icelandic roasterie, specializing in importing, roasting and serving the finest Arabica coffee beans. Apart from the roasterie, the company owns eight coffee stores-espresso bars or cafés. They are located at our roastery, five in Reykjavík and two at the international airport featuring coffee beans, coffee drinks and various gift items. Kaffitár’s coffee expert personally selects each type of coffee, since not all Arabica beans meet our high standards. Producing specialty coffee may be compared to wine production and brewing, where good quality beans and correct preparation is essential from start to finish. At our roasterie our skilled roasters freshly roast our high quality Arabica beans every day. Our experienced baristas then ensure that you get a fantastic cup of coffee, be it a Latte, Espresso, Cappucino or single origin filter. Our Baristas are all trained and recieve on-going on-site training to ensure that the coffee standards are maintained. At our bakery make our own sandwiches in addition to baking our own cakes. Kaffitár coffee is roasted daily to ensure the coffee’s freshness. The coffee specialist tastes a sample from each batch of coffee to make sure that each coffee’s characteristics have been brought out. The coffee is packed right away and shipped to customers. An ideal way of preserving Kaffitár is in an airtight container in the refrigerator. That way the coffee maintains its flavor and freshness.
